Applications

2-Acetylthiophene is an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It is used to make active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), especially in antiretroviral and antifungal drugs. As well as being used in pharmaceuticals, it is used in agrochemicals (chemicals used in farming), as a flavour enhancer in food additives, and as a building block in polymer chemistry (the branch of chemistry that deals with large molecules, like plastics). It is also used in photoresist materials and specialty coatings, showing that it can be used in many different industries.

Packaging

We package pharmaceuticals in two layers to keep them dry. The first layer is an aluminium foil pouch, and the second is a strong fibre drum. Standard units are 20 kg or 500 kg, and we can make custom orders too.
